Karkala: Hit by truck, senior citizen crossing road killed

Karkala, Aug 11: After a truck carrying goods hit a pedestrian near Belman church in the taluk on the evening of Monday August 10, he was killed on the spot.

Jaggu Nalke (75) from Bola village lost his life in this accident. The truck was moving towards Padubidri from Karkala when the accident occurred. Jaggu, who was crossing the road near the petrol bunk at Belman, was knocked down by the truck, which then deviated from the road and fell by its side.

Senior police officials visited the spot and directed investigation. A case was registered in the rural police station here relating to this accident.
