OnePlus ties up with Ola to widen customer base


Bengaluru, Aug 11 (IANS): Chinese handset-maker OnePlus has partnered with cab aggregator and service firm Ola to provide an on demand experience to consumers who wish to buy the OnePlus 2, its new flagship phone, an official said on Tuesday.

"This is the first time ever that an on demand platform in the country is bringing an exclusive experience for its users, with the new OnePlus 2," Sudarshan Gangrade, vice-president (marketing) at Ola, said.

"Users can request a OnePlus 2 experience at their doorstep within minutes, straight from their Ola app, with the same ease of booking a cab. We are excited about this partnership and look forward to our users experiencing the OnePlus 2 before anyone else does in the country," he added.

OnePlus prides itself on manufacturing smartphones of futuristic makes and specifications.

"OnePlus 2 will be available for an on demand experience on the Ola app this month in six major cities across India including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata," he said.

In Bengaluru and Chennai, this initiative will be available on August 17-18, in Hyderabad and Mumbai on August 21-22 and in Kolkata and Delhi on August 25 and 26, respectively.

Vikas Agarwal, general manager at OnePlus India, said: "At OnePlus, it has been our constant endeavour to innovate our marketing strategy to further enhance the user experience, and this collaboration is another step in that direction.
