Puttur: Accident again at Shiradi at same spot

Puttur, Aug 12: An accident occurred again at Kodyakallu road bend at Addahole in Shiradi village in the taluk on national highway 66 on Tuesday August 11.

Four persons were injured after the car in which they were travelling was hit by an empty LPG bullet tanker returning to Mangaluru from Bengaluru. It may be recalled that two had perished at this spot in an accident involving tanker and jeep on Monday.

The injured are Sachin (24), Preetam (22), Vishnu (24), and Pradeep Adiga (22). They were moving in their car to Subrahmanya after visiting Dharmasthala at the time of the accident. The gas tanker that was speeding down the slope hit the car and then swerved to the side and its wheels entered the roadside storm drain.

All the injured were admitted into a hospital at Mangaluru. The tanker driver has absconded. A case stands registered about this incident at the traffic police station here.
