Sri Lanka opt to bat against India in first Test


Galle, Aug 12 (IANS): Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews won the toss and decided to bat against India in the first match of the three-Test series at the Galle International Cricket Stadium here in Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

The teams:

India: Virat Kohli (captain), Shikher Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Wriddhiman Saha, Ravichandran Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Amit Mishra, Varun Aaron, Ishant Sharma.

Sri Lanka: Angelo Mathews (captain), Dimuth Karunaratne, Kaushal Silva, Kumar Sangakkara, Lahiru Thirimanne, Dinesh Chandimal, Jehan Mubarak, Rangana AHerath, Dhammika Prasad, Nuwan Pradeep, Tharindu Kaushal.
