Mangalore, Jun 12: A pedestrian was knocked down by a private bus while trying to cross the road on M G Road near Canara College here on Monday June 11.
The deceased has been identified as Ganesh (36), a resident of Abbettu near Meramajal here. He was working in a cassette shop on M G Road. On Monday, he had gone to the bank and was returning when the bus knocked him down.
Though he was immediately rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to injuries on the way and was declared brought dead in the hospital
Locals said that as it often happens, it was owing to the reckless driving of the private bus driver that Ganesh lost his life. The bus was trying to overtake another vehicle when it rammed into Ganesh and injured him seriously.
