Paris, Aug 18 (IANS): The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained a slight advance of 0.57 percent to close at 4, 984.83 points, up 28.36 points.
Although the indicators coming from the US are very disappointing, the CAC 40 of Paris closed slightly higher on Monday, with 27 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance, Xinhua reported.
The top three gainers on Monday were Alstom, up 7.20 percent, Credit Agricole, up 2.10 percent and Lafargeholcim Ltd, up 1.71 percent.
The three companies whose stocks dropped were Technip, down 1.47 percent, Renault, down 1.32 percent, and Legrand, down 0.88 percent.
In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 dropped slightly by 0.65 percent to close at 4,956.47 points, down 30.38 points.
