Mangalore, Jan 14: National Fisheries Forum has decided to launch postcard movement against the union government's decision to issue licenses to 110 foreign deep sea trawlers.

This was decided during the seminar on proposed Coastal Maintenance Bill (which will replace the existing Coastal Regulatory Act) held at Chennai under the auspices of National Fisheries Forum on June 11 and 12.

The proposed new bill if comes into effect would nullify all the regulations of Coastal Regulatory Authority.

In this regard a delegation led by forum president has decided to meet concerned minister in New Delhi in person on June 21.

Moreover, Delhi Chalo Movement, protest meetings etc will be held on August 9.

This was announced in a joint press release by working president of Karnataka Coastal Action Committee Loknath Bolar and All-Karnataka. Fisheries Action Committee general secretary Vasudev Bolar recently.
