Tribunal asks Hathway to pay fee to MSM Media

Mumbai, Aug 18 (IANS): The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has passed an order instructing Hathway Cable and Datacom (Hathway) to pay outstanding dues of Rs.14.56 crore towards subscription fee to MSM Media Distribution Pvt Ltd by October 31.

The agreement between the two expires on that date.

"We, at MSM Media Distribution, are happy that TSDAT has taken a fair view of this case and has given an order in our favour stating that the contract is sacrosanct and must be followed through," Makarand Palekar, executive vice president of sales and marketing at MSM Media Distribution, said in a statement.

"We are very conscious of not making our end consumer suffer and refrained from deactivating our services inspite of a huge debt from Hathway," Palekar added.
