SBI launches mobile wallet app 'Buddy'


New Delhi, Aug 18 (IANS): The State Bank of India (SBI) on Tuesday launched a new mobile app 'Buddy' in partnership with Accenture and Mastercard.

The app can be used to send money to new and registered customers, book movie tickets, flights, hotels as well as for shopping.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha launched the new app in the presence of secretary in the department of financial services, Hasmukh Adhia.

The new app comes with features like reminders to settle dues, recharge and pay bills instantly.

The new app, which will be available on Google Play Store, is meant for both existing and new SBI customers. It will soon be introduced in Apple app stores.
