Panaji, Jun 15: In the last 4 days, Goa was witness to six major road accidents, out which two proved fatal with two deaths, and in all 49 persons getting injured.

With the onset of monsoon in the state, the roads in the state are turning more slippery with dried leaves and vehicular oil settling on the tar layer.

Those killed included a woman and a 20-year-old college student. The Goa traffic police are working out strategies to contain the number of accidents taking place on the Goan roads.

The Bambolim speedway and Porvorim Old Bazaar turn are the two notorious accident-prone zones.
