Guj: Suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt sacked

Ahmedabad, Aug 19 (PTI): Suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, who had taken on the Gujarat government headed by Narendra Modi over the 2002 post-Godhra riots, was today sacked on the ground of "unauthorised absence" from service, an action which he said came after a "sham inquiry".

"Yes, it is true that my services have been terminated. This was expected. They have been conducting a completely ex-parte inquiry. I got the letter (sack order) from them (the Home ministry)," Bhatt told PTI this evening.

Gujarat Chief Secretary G R Aloria confirmed the development. "Services of Sanjiv Bhatt have been terminated," he said.

Bhatt said he was sacked on the basis of "a sham inquiry" with regard to his "unauthorised absence" from service when he had come to Ahmedabad to depose before the SIT probing the 2002 riots.

"They (government) have been conducting a sham inquiry... an ex-parte inquiry about unauthorised absence from duty," Bhatt said.

When asked if he will challenge his sacking, Bhatt said he did not want to impose himself on the government.

"A lot can be done (against the move) but whether it is worth challenging....Government does not want me, why I should be so keen that I want to remain in this," Bhatt said.
"I had joined the police with a passion, now it seems the country and this government does not need me. So whatever has happened is good. I cannot impose myself on the government."

Bhatt, a 1988 batch IPS officer, was under suspension since 2011 for unauthorised absence from service.

He had alleged in an affidavit in the Supreme Court that Narendra Modi, then the Chief Minister, instructed the top police officers to allow the Hindus "to vent out their anger" after the train-burning incident at Godhra in February 2002.

Bhatt had claimed that he had attended a meeting in this regard on February 27, 2002 at Modi's residence in Gandhinagar.

Recently, the Gujarat government issued Bhatt a show-cause notice over a video purportedly showing him with a woman. It sought his explanation for allegedly having extra-marital relationship; Bhatt denied that the man in the video was him.

One of the ways to get rid of the threat of witnesses revealing the truth is to first discredit them by either falsely framing them in some illegal activity/crime or making a false assault on his/her character. This way they hope that the public will not take their revelations to be true.
Teesta Setalvad and now Sanjiv Bhatt.
Another simple way is to just bump them off like fake encounter etc.

The entire world knows what is right & what is wrong…, who is telling the truth & who is telling lies…, and above all what happened in Gujarat in 2002 – was that a revolt by mob against the burning of a train carrying Hindu pilgrims or a pre-planned act by the ruling party in Gujarat…?

Whatever happens and whoever is now on top of the world due to that heinous act of 2002 will one day have to pay the price very dearly and no one is above the Almighty God with whom we will not have a chance to argue.

What Mr. Bhatt has done a right thing and there is no point fighting out with the government. It is better to leave as it is and move on and leave the rest in the hands of Almighty God. At this point in time and every now & then I can recite this duaa for the who have done such since against humanity irrespective of cast & religion let it be Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Buddhist or anyone else. All are equal against the Almighty God.

“Hasbunallahu Va-Neeaymalvakeelu Alallahi Tawakkalna” and the meaning of this duaa is “Allah is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs for us. What an Excellent Guardian and Protector He is”.

Dear Mr.Sanjiv Bhatt, thank God you have not been killed or physically injured or maimed. If a job is lost one can get another one. This 'may be' a blessing in disguise for you. Now you are free to expose the truth as you will not be prevented or constrained by the demands your earlier job position to reveal what the govt. terms as so called 'state secrets'.
However, mind you, you are still in danger and need to be extremely cautious as the powers that be would have certainly contracted goons to keep a watch on you and eliminate you if they feel threatened by your revelations of the truth against the Supremo aka Feku.
I feel this is the purpose in the first place why you have been first sacked because if the powers that be kill a civilian it will not be taken seriously by the media/public whereas killing an IPS officer by the powers that be would become a major scandal.
Take extreme care of your life sir ! Preserve it to fight another day !

    Dear Akul,

whatever you said is absolutely correct, because of this mentality we remained back,we are not ready to accept any new ideology, new Technics, new way of development since we addicted to the age old political motivated ideas,we are fearing for new innovations.
See in this case what happened, yes so many officers were sacked for their misdeed but why we need to hype this police officers removal? if he is not attending to duty why govt should keep him in that post?

This is a modern style of dictatorship and fascism. What we are seeing now is a 'soft' version of it and soon in time to come it will develop into a hard version of dictatorship and fascism. Dissent will be ruthlessly suppressed. Opposing views will be trampled upon. Media which attempts to expose the failings or wrong doings of the government will be threatened/silence by the govt.'s agents. Criminals who offer support to the government will be let off free. Media and eminent persons who praise the govt. will be rewarded. On the other hand, eminent persons who are critical of govt.'s wrong policies will be harassed, verbally abused/insulted by bhakts and mentally tortured. Academic and Cultural Institutions will be taken over by the government's handpicked representatives to further their communal and fascist agenda. All kinds of events will be organized like grand overseas tours, grand speeches, grand announcement of favourable policies to appease people with a religious extremist thinking from time to time to increase the cult following of the 'Supremo' aka Feku.
Ultimately, this guy will slowly divide and destroy a beautiful country. I am not fortune teller/prophet but this one prediction will come true !
Super power ? forget it !
This guy will truly Modify the country.
Are we already witnessing this here on a mini scale ? So God help us !

Ab ki baar Modi sarkar. He should be tankful to Modi who left him alive in this world. So many dies who have opposed and witnessed. Why the government is keen on his extra marital affairs. Thats none of their business. What is happening in Gujarat is happening in India. BJP government is keen on delhi with small things and they are disturbing the peace there. Message is clear if you go against Modi you will be eliminated. WHther is Advani or Kejriwal or the witnesses in Vyapam. If people of India are smart then Agli bar kisi aur ki sarkar will come as it happened in Karnataka with Yedyurappa

It's not surprising ! Everybody knows the story of one tea seller, who is to serve tea to his enemy, mixed with his urine. By hook or crook smash the head of anyone who raise his head against Modi, that's the policy of Feku ! That time central government was different. Now he is the government. So Who can stop him now?
