New Delhi, Aug 19 (IANS): The Delhi government would invite inspiring public personalities to be a teacher for a day, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said here on Wednesday.

"We are starting a concept, Be a Teacher. And the first step towards this is being taken by President Pranab Mukherjee, who will teach the students of a government school on the eve of Teachers Day," said Sisodia, who also holds education portfolio.

"We want successful but honest people to to take one class in Delhi government schools. We want them to share their experiences with the students," he added.

He was addressing a session on 'Making Delhi the Knowledge Hub of India', organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

He said he was glad when Mukherjee not only agreed to his request to interact with students, but proposed to teach them in class.

Earlier, Sisodia announced that Mukherjee will interact with the students in a Delhi government school on the eve of Teacher's Day.
