Odisha plans roadshow in Delhi to woo investors


Bhubaneswar, Aug 20 (IANS): Odisha will hold a roadshow in the national capital to woo foreign embassies and India Inc in a bid to promote the Odisha MSME Trade Fair, 2016.

The road show will be held on September 7, inviting foreign embassies, different union ministries and various corporate bodies.

"The roadshow is going to be organised in New Delhi on September 7 by inviting foreign embassies, different ministries of the government of India, India Trade Promotion Organisation, FICCI, ASSOCHAM and CII for mobilisation of participation of foreign delegates/buyers in the forthcoming MSME trade fair," P.S. Mishra, MSME department additional secretary, said.

The MSME Trade Fair, 2016 would be held here from January 8 to 14.

The government has also planned to hold roadshows in various Asian and European nations to attract FDI.

The roadshows in China, Japan and Taiwan, slated to be organised in October, are aimed at drawing FDI in the steel, aluminium, plastic and polymers and food processing sectors.

In November, the state will holdroad shows in Britain, Germany and Israel to tap foreign investment in multiple sectors.
