Udupi: SVS Pre-University College holds taluk-level throw ball match

Udupi, Aug 21: A taluk-level throw ball match for high school boys was held at SVS Pre-University College on Tuesday August 18 here.








Basavarajappa, physical education inspector inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.

Speaking at the program Basavarajappa said, "Udupi zilla panchayat supports all sports activities along with providing of uniforms. Hence, the district players shine as winners at inter-district level tournaments. So, the effort of physical education teachers and the support of the education institution board play a crucial role.

Basavarajappa also said that the sports department in order to develop interest towards sports has organized long term sports-activities which began on July 15 and will end on September 20.

Zilla panchayat member Katpady Shankar Poojary was also present during the inauguration. School convener K Mahesh Shenoy presided over the program.

Shrikar Anchan, taluk panchayat member, Prabha D Shetty, vice president of Katpady gram panchayat, Prem Kumar, old student’s union president, Raghavendra Rao, secretary, Dr Dayanand Pai, college principal, Sitaram Shetty, district physical education union president, Yuvaraj and others were present.

Shekhar Anchan welcomed the gathering, Subrahmanya Tanti delivered the vote of thanks. Kiran Kumar Shetty compered the program.

Kaup Dandatheertha High School bagged the winner-up award by their outstanding performance and Hindu Junior College Shirva won the runner up award in high school boys’ throwball match.
