Mumbai: 'Darshan Patri' Malpe Manjunath Pai (69) Passes away

Mumbai, Jun 17: Malpe Manjunath  M Pai (69), former official of Maharashtra Cotton Growers’ Association and well-known ‘Darshan Patri’ of Shri Durga Parameshwari Temple of Malpe, Udupim passed away in Sanjeevini Hospital of Virar West here on Saturday, June 16 morning, after a brief illness.

Pai was an active and prominent member of the Gowda Saraswat Brahmin Association and had generously donated to several socially beneficent causes.

He had his family roots in Malpe, Udupi of Karnataka. An earlier resident of Ashoknagar, Kandivili East, in the past few years he had been living with his only son Venkatesh M Pai.

He was the brother of well-known Reiki specialist Dr Venkatesh Pai and entrepreneur Prakash Pai, and father-in-law of Mahesh K Pai of Central Bank of India.

His final rites were held in the Janaki Chowk crematorium in Virar West on Saturday evening.

He is survived by wife Jennibai, son Venkatesh and daughters Priya and Shailaja
