Still prepared to go to New Delhi: Sartaj Aziz

Islamabad, Aug 22 (IANS): Pakistan's National Security Adviser Sartaj Aziz said here on Saturday he still prepared to go to New Delhi for talks with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval that have seemingly hit a roadblock.

"I am still prepared to do my part in NSA level talks without any preconditions," Aziz told the media.

Aziz is slated to meet his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval in New Delhi on Aug 23-24.

He said that the Pakistan high commission had invited separatist leaders to enable him meet a cross-section of leaders. India has said this is unacceptable.

"Is it conceivable that a country like India will cancel the talks on such flimsy grounds," he asked.

He said that it is up to India to "decide on the talks. I still look forward to going to New Delhi".
