Udupi, Jun 18: The newly-elected office bearers of district Block Congress took charge at a convention held here on Sunday June 17.
Speaking on the occasion, former deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah attacked the BJP alleging that it was a party made of communal forces.
He further said that there BJP and JD(S) had nothing in common between them and accused the coalition government of being immoral.
Adding that the government had failed to address the problems of farmers which led them to commit suicides, Siddaramaiah said that the coalition had achieved nothing to be proud of.
Addressing press persons later, he opined that mid-term elections may be held in either December 2007 or January 2008.
He said that chief minister Kumaraswamy may not hand over the power to BJP as there is no candidate suitable for the post in BJP and hence a mid-term election is on the cards.
Among those present were newly-elected Ullal MLA U T Khader and Congress leaders.
