Mangalore: City Doctors Invited to Present Papers in USA

Mangalore, Jun 19: Two doctors from the city have been invited to present papers in USA in their in their respective field.

Consultant physician and KMC Mangalore professor of medicine, Dr Mohammed Ismail will be proceeding to the USA on invitation of the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Dr Ismail will present his paper on Diabetes at the 67th scientific session of the ADA to be held at Chicago between June 22 and 26.

His study on certain aspects of diabetes mellitus has been accepted by the Association to be published in the prestigious international medical journal 'DIABETES'.

Dr Ismail has also other publications in prestigious International journals from Europe and the States. He has done a lot of work and reasoning about rampant medical problems like Diabetes, Hypertension and Thyroid Dysfunctions.
 
Anatomy Professor to present paper in USA

Professor and head of the department of Anatomy of the Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore at the Centre of Basic Sciences, Bejai,  Dr Latha V Prabhu has been invited by the American Association of Clinical Anatomists ( AACA ) to present to delegates her study done on the effects of Pre-Natal Stress on the neurological and physical development of the newborn. She will be making her presentation at the 24th Annual AACA conference to be held at Nevada, Las Vegas, USA from June 17 to 20.

Dr Latha who has more than 60 different publications in various national and international journals is a PhD guide to medical graduates and has co-authored a comprehensive textbook on Histology for undergraduate medical students. She is currently writing a book on the Anatomy of the Orbit for post-graduates of Ophthalmology.
