New Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 26 (IANS): The Research Centre Imarat (RCI), the avionics laboratory of the DRDO missile complex, on Wednesday received the PSU summit award 2015.

RCI director G. Satheesh Reddy received the prestigious award during the Elets Technomedia 2nd annual PSU summit in New Delhi.

RCI was chosen for the award for its seminal contributions towards IT enablement of Organisation through ERP and promotion of ICT, said a statement by Hyderabad-based laboratory.

Satheesh Reddy said transferring all the administrative and financial operations on virtual platform were very vital for increasing efficiency, productivity and transparency in any organisation.

"There is a need to embrace ICT for organizational effectiveness, proficient project and programme management with IT enabling of important functions like HR, finance, administrative tasks and e-procurement," he said.

Last year, RCI had won this award for its e-governance initiatives.
