Pregnant teen buried alive, wakes up in coffin

Honduras, Aug 27 (Agencies) : A pregnant Honduran teenager was reportedly found to have been buried alive after family members heard her screaming from the coffin a day after the funeral.

Family members of Neyesi Perez, who was three months pregnant at the time of her death, broke open the tomb and found the viewing glass in the coffin smashed and her fingertips bruised, according to a report in The Independent.

The shocking discovery was made by her husband who heard noises coming from inside the coffin when he visited her grave a day after the funeral.

She was rushed to the hospital but no signs of life were found by medics.

Perez was later re-buried in the same cemetery.

The girl was initially declared dead after she reportedly suffered an apparent panic attack outside her La Entrada home.

She started foaming at the mouth and was taken to hospital where she was declared dead by the doctors.

Middle England, Wake-keeping (3 days) started after invention of Anesthesia to make sure that the person is really dead and not in coma due to anesthesia.
Also a rope used to tie to the fingures of dead person after burial to a bell hanged on his grave. In case if he is awakened after diminishing of Anesthesia, his movement will make bell ring and will alert people around.
    This logic applies here.

Truely a illiterate act. Wish they could have consulted a doctor before finalising the incident of death. This shows total ignorance by family members...

To broke small viewing glass by her fingers, she had struggled several hours with extreme strength to save herself and her baby. She could be saved if her husband reached that place in time.

This is not the first time we hear of people who were thought to be dead were buried and later found to be alive.
What if there have been cases in the past where people who were thought to be dead and were buried were actually alive but nobody found out about it and they later died out of suffocation because they could not get out of the coffin ?
In the case of this Honduran girl could it be a case of medical incompetency or a blunder by the medical staff in declaring her dead ? or could it be a conspiracy to finish her off and the medical staff were involved/bribed to death or could it be that Medical science still needs to come up with a more completely fool proof technique to establish death beyond any doubt as there have been reports in the past of persons whose heart beat and breathing apparently were known to have stopped for a while but were later discovered to be alive.
Another interesting point to note is that this teenager was married (and pregnant). Was she at least 18 years old ? may be not.
