US drone strike kills five Al-Qaeda members in Yemen

Aden (Yemen), Aug 27 (IANS): At least five Al-Qaeda gunmen were killed and two injured in a US drone strike in Yemen's Hadramout provice on Thursday, a government official said.

Three missiles hit a house in the provincial capital Mukalla, where the Al-Qaeda terrorist group has a large presence, the official said on condition of anonymity, Xinhua reported.

Military intelligence sources confirmed that all the dead were active members of Al-Qaeda and had engaged in many armed attacks against the armed forces in the province.

The drone attack came one day after Al-Qaeda terrorists blew up the headquarters of the Second Regional Military Command in Hadramout and set up several checkpoints in the province's key entrances.
