Udupi: Installation ceremony of Rotaract club, SMVITM held

Udupi, Aug 27: The installation ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, (SMVITM), Bantakal, sponsored by Rotary Shankarpura, was held on Saturday August 22.

Rtn Mahadeva Swamy, district Rotaract Representative (DRR), Rotary International District (RID) 3180 was the chief guest on the occasion.

In his address to the gathering, Mahadeva Swamy encouraged the students of SMVITM to organize many Rotary Club activities under the aegis of the SMVITM Rotaract Club.

Guest of honour Rtn Manjappa D Goni, ZRR, Karavali zone, in his address briefly explained the importance of the Rotaract movement and congratulated the new office bearers and members.

Rtn Clifford D’Mello, president, Rotary Club, Shankarpura acted as the Installing officer at the function.

Dr A Ganesha, dean (academics) delivered his message on the occasion. Prof Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal, director of SMVITM, Rtn Edward Mendonsa, Rotaract chairperson and Kishore Kumar Aroor, Rotaract Club Faculty coordinator were present during the installation program.

The following students were sworn in as office bearers of the club for the academic year 2015 -2016: Deviprasad Shetty, president, Alva Rakshith, secretary, Sneha Hegde, treasurer, Dhanraj Shetty, Ashwith Samani, Anusha Pai and Liban D’Souza –directors, Sahil Ali and Harshith Joshi as sergeants.

The programme commenced with the Rotaract prayer by Rtr Pritesh Rtr Adheesh Shetty welcomed the guests and Rtr Devika Lakshmeesha presented a brief report on the various activities organized by the club during the past academic year 2014-15. Rtr Alva Rakshith delivered the vote of thanks.

The Programme was compered by Rtr Anusha Pai and Rtr Sunetra.
