Intel unveils innovation initiatives


Bengaluru, Aug 27 (IANS): Intel India on Thursday unveiled Intel India Maker Lab and Intel India Maker Showcase to power product innovation in India in Internet of Things (IoT), mobile devices and other computer focused domains.

Intel India Maker Lab will zero in on hardware design by bolstering product innovation to increase the capability of startups in India while Intel India Maker Showcase will exhibit products and solutions from Intel India Maker Lab and Intel, Intel India said in a statement.

The new initiatives are aimed at helping the Indian government realise its vision of Digital India and Make in India.

"Intel India is committed to accelerating Digital India and Design in India by invigorating innovation across the ecosystem. Design capability is a critical aspect for the success of these initiatives, and the Intel India Maker Lab will provide a facility to offer that support," said Intel India president Kumud Srinivasan.

Budding entrepreneurs will be helped with development kits, reference boards, hardware and software tools, mentorship and business support to develop products, the statement added.

Initially, 10 startups will be supported with the selection process completing in October.
