Delhi Traffic Police says 'Jansahayog' scheme not finalised yet

New Delhi, Aug 29 (IANS): Delhi Traffic Police, which on Friday announced the launch of its "Jansahayog" scheme aimed at involving Delhiites in keeping a check on rising traffic violations, hours later said the scheme was "under consideration" and not yet finalised.

"You are requested to kindly ignore the photographs and press release of traffic regarding launching of the Jansahayog scheme," said a statement from the Delhi Police public relations department.

"The scheme is under consideration and its name has also not been finalised yet. As and when this scheme is finalised, (we) will inform the media as well," it said.

Earlier in the day, Special Commissioner of Traffic Muktesh Chander said the scheme was aimed at reporting traffic violations committed by motorists.
