Kasargod: CODP celebrates Onam festival

Kasargod, Aug 29: Canara Organization for Development and Peace (CODP) celebrated Onam festival under the aegis of self help groups in Sauharda Mahasangha Enmakaje in Sharadamba school near Perla. Competitions were held in Pookalam, tug of war and culture.






















The hall programme was inaugurated by Enmakaje grama panchayat president J S Somashekar. Speaking on the occasion he praised the contribution of CODP in society. “CODP is conducting several programmes including awareness and financial help. It is identified without discrimination of politics, caste or creed. The organization has conducted development and social service which was not possible by the government,” he said.

Mangaluru CODP director Fr Oswald Monteiro presided over the programme. Manjeshwar block panchayat member Ramakrishna Rai Kudva, Bedrampalla school headmistress Mallika teacher, Ravi Kumar Crasta, Peter Paul, president of the sangha and members were present.

The chief guest presented prizes to the winners of the competitions. Sauharda Mahasangha president Magdeline D'Souza welcomed the gathering. Secretary Roopalatha presented the report. Ravindra Naika N P proposed the vote of thanks.
