Woman rescued from Delhi's red light area


New Delhi, Aug 29 (IANS): A 26-year-old woman from Andhra Pradesh has been rescued from a brothel in Delhi's G.B. Road area, police said on Saturday.

According to police, the victim who is divorced and a mother of three hailing from Andhra Pradesh, was rescued after a tip off on Friday.

"On August 19, the woman was brought to Delhi from Andhra Pradesh by a man who had first befriended and lured her with a job in railways and then sold her at a brothel in G.B. Road area," said a police officer.

A case under relevant sections has been registered.

A hunt is on for the man who brought the woman and sold her, police said.
