Two Indo-Canadians killed in jet-ski accident

Toronto, Aug 29 (IANS): Two men who died in a jet-ski accident were identified as an Indo-Canadian businessman and his friend, a media report said on Saturday.

Emergency workers were called to the shores of the Fraser river on Thursday after a commercial vessel captain spotted two men - later identified as realtor-builder Salinder Burmy and Ramanjit "Bunty" Bachra, The Link newspaper reported.

The Richmond Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed that two men in their 50s were pulled unresponsive from the water and were later pronounced dead.

According to police, both the men had head injuries and were found floating in the water near a jet ski.

Police suspect that speed and lighting could have been factors that led to the incident.

Burmy's LinkedIn profile lists him as president and CEO at Presidio Land Development Corp. Under the business categories were land assembly, land development, investments and project marketing, the report said.

Burmy also supported social causes, including education, human rights and poverty alleviation.
