29 Indian, Bangladeshi cattle smugglers held in Bengal


Kolkata, Aug 29 (IANS): The Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday nabbed 29 smugglers including Bangladeshis and seized over 300 cattle from near the International Border in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, an officer said.

The smugglers along with the cattle were detained in the early hours of the day under Nimtita border outpost.

“The troopers of 20th battalion BSF carried out a special operation during which we apprehended 29 cattle smugglers including eight Bangladeshis. We have also seized 320 cattle,” said a BSF officer.

The smugglers have been handed over to the police.
