Rajnath Singh meets injured troopers at AIIMS


New Delhi, Aug 29 (IANS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh visited AIIMS here on Saturday and met an injured Jammu and Kashmir police constable Mohammad Salim and BSF jawan Ashok Kumar.

Salim was a part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police team that participated in a gunbattle with Pakistani terrorists in the Panzla forest area in Rafiabad, 85 km from Srinagar on Thursday.

He was injured during firing and brought to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the capital for better treatment.

Kumar, a Border Security Force (BSF) trooper, was wounded during an ambush in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected area of Malkangiri, Odisha, and was brought to AIIMS.

Rajnath Singh wished them a speedy recovery.
