Bengaluru, Aug 31: Legislative assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa, who is famous for his outspokenness, has come down heavily again on the incumbent government as well its ministers and legislators.
“Where is the government which came to power with the promises? What is it doing? The ministers and legislators do not have determination to do the expected work for the people. They accuse the ones who ask them to correct their mistakes,” Kagodu said in Bengaluru on Sunday after receiving the ‘Sahyadri’ award conferred on him by Sahyadri Sangha.
“It is sad to note that the legislators and ministers do not have the intention to implement the plans. They only attend the sessions because they are supposed to. They do not know anything about the problems of the people. How do you expect social changes by these people? I am sure they are of no help to the society,” Kagodu added.
“Who loves the constituency? They have only entered politics for the sake of power. I did not have any intention to come to politics. But I decided to enter politics after some people advised me to join politics to bring about a change in the society. But I am not happy with the system,” he continued.
“The legislators and ministers who have been chosen to bring about social reform are least bothered about their work. And the general public is keeping quiet despite the injustice done to them. I have told these leaders to go to constituencies and listen to the problems of people. But it has hardly helped.”Kagodu showed his displeasure.
“These ministers talk to media sitting in the Vidhana Soudha. They are only publicity seekers. Many children of farmers have become leaders. But they hardly work for the benefit of farmer community. Where is the government who said that it will provide land to the landless, water to the thirsty and the government which promised transparent administration? I have told them several times to respond to the problems of people. A farmer has to go many times offices and many times to get certificate on his own property. Who wants this system?” Kagodu concluded.
