Bengaluru, Aug 31: Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji, of Sri Ramachandrapur Math, Hosanagar, who is being investigated relating to a rape complaint filed by erstwhile Ramakatha singer, Premalata Shastri, which is being investigated by Criminal Intelligence Department, has more problems at hand now. On Saturday August 29, another rape case was registered against the Swamiji in Girinagar police station in the city.

A lady from Hosanagar, who arrived at Girinagar police station on Sunday, claimed that the Swamiji has been raping her since 2006. Not satisfied with mere police complaint, she also approached Karnataka State Woman's Commission, with a petition requesting the commission to pursue this complaint.

It is said that the present complainant is from Hosanagar in Shivamogga district where the Math is headquartered, and had been serving his Math in the capacity of an artiste.

The earlier complaint of multiple rapes had been filed in Banashankari police station in the city by Anshumathi Shastri, daugher of Premalata Shastri, who had fallen out of favours of the Swamiji after serving the Math as Ramakatha singer for long. Anshumathi had complained that the Swamiji had raped her mother during the period she was associated with the Math. In this case, investigation by criminal intelligence department is progressing.

The woman was subjected to medical examination by the Girinagar police on Sunday. The woman had said that the Swamiji has been raping her since she was a minor. The investigating officer had asked her to present herself for medical examination. Although she underwent tests at Kempegowda Hospital in the city on Sunday, sources said that the report by the doctors was not clear about the aspect of rape as alleged.
