Panaji, Jun 24: Heavy rains with a deadly combination of strong winds have been lashing Goa since Saturday, affecting normal life.

About 500 trees have been reportedly uprooted within a day across the state. Several houses were reported to be damaged on account of the strong winds. About 4.5 inch rain has been recorded within just i hours. Several areas across the state are still reported to be in darkness, after electric supply was affected.
The fire brigade, police and the municipalities are on their toes in bringing the situation back to the normalcy.
