India to host World Packaging Congress


Mumbai, Sep 1 (IANS): After a gap of 11 years, India will play host to the World Packaging Congress here this October.

Organised by the Indian Institute of Packaging, an autonomous body under the ministry of commerce and industry, the congress aims to serve as a platform for industry to absorb best practices from the rest of the world with focus on business promotion, international networking and make in India.

"The institute will be organising the World Packaging Congress with the theme 'Packaging: Strategies for Global Competitiveness'. It will be held at Hotel Renaissance, Powai, Mumbai during October 9-10, 2015," NC Saha, the director of IIP, said.

"For the first time, India will be hosting the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) board meeting and WPO working group meeting. About 35-40 representatives from various WPO member countries will be attending this event," he added.
