Stormy weather kills two in France

Paris, Sep 1 (IANS): Violent storms killed two people and injured several others in southwest France, the media reported on Tuesday.

A 29-year-old woman died in Montbeton town after a tree uprooted by strong winds fell on her vehicle, Xinhua news agency reported.

Four other people were wounded, two of them in critical condition.

The second victim was a Bulgarian truck driver. He was struck by lightning in a parking lot in Charente.

The storms, which hit France's southwestern region, caused power shortage in 87,000 homes.
