Delhi government to give job to deceased DTC driver's son


New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS): The Delhi government on Tuesday decided to offer a junior clerk's job to the son of DTC driver Ashok Kumar who died in a road rage incident in May, besides bearing medical expenses of his widow, an official statement said.

Afer Kumar's death on duty on May 10 in Mundka area, his family had met Kejriwal and it was assured all possible support.

"The cabinet decided that Ajay, son of late Ashok Kumar, be given employment in the clerical cadre to the post of junior clerk in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) on compassionate grounds," the statement following the cabinet meet chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the Delhi secretariat said.

It was also approved to give other monetary benefits to the family.

"The cabinet also decided that the medical expenses of late Kumar's wife (sic) would be taken care of and her treatment would be done at either or empanelled hospital as per DTC rules," the statement added.
