Mangaluru, Sep 2: Five ninth standard students of St Lourdes high school at Mattikere in Bengaluru, who had left Bengaluru without informing anyone and reached the city on Tuesday morning were entrusted to the care of their parents on Tuesday September 1.

These students, who had left Bengaluru by taking a night bus to the city after school hours on Monday, reached here on Tuesday morning. At around 11 am they were seen roaming around Panambur beach. Lifeguards of Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project, who got suspicious about the movements of these young students, questioned them.

As the students came up with unconvincing answers that did not tally with each other, the staff checked their school bags. They identified the students to be Mukesh, Sudeep, Nishant, and Akshay from Mattikere, and Muhammed Aslam from Yashwantpur. Although each of these students had cellphones, they had been switched off. As soon as these cellphones were collected from their possessions and switched on, calls from the parents started coming in. The lifeguard staff told these parents about the fact that the students had come to the city and that they were under their care.

The children were then handed over to Panambur police. The parents were asked to come to the police station and take their children back. On Tuesday night, all these parents reached the city, visited Pabnambur police station, and took their children back home.
