Car catches fire in Delhi, one dead


New Delhi, Sep 2 (IANS): A 30-year-old man was charred in a car which caught fire, after a speeding truck lost control and collided with it on Wednesday, police said.

Police said that the truck also hit another car and a motorcycle, leaving three people, including two women and the lone two-wheeler rider, injured.

The incident occurred around 2.30 a.m. at Rao Tula Ram Marg in south Delhi.

Aneesh, who worked in a private company in Gurgaon, died in the incident.

Police said that Aneesh's car caught fire soon after the collision and his body was completely charred by the time they managed to take him out with the help of fire service officers.

"The truck driver fled, leaving his vehicle on the spot," a police officer said.

According to police, the truck driver lost control over the vehicle in his attempt to save the car and turned turtle.
