Bengaluru, Sep 4: A cabinet expansion is expected to take place soon in the state. As per sources in the state capital, chief minister Siddaramaiah is going to take up this issue with his party high command on Wednesday, September 9.

Siddaramaiah who is visiting the national capital with regard to Invest Karnataka 2015, a Global investors’ convention, will discuss the expansion matter as a priority with the Congress high command.

Only the mayoral election for the BBMP is the impediment on the way. As things are not very clear presently on the impending mayoral election and the pact with the JD(S), the CM wants a clear green signal to proceed further with the expansion. He does not want create any confusion and chaos in the state politics.

Cabinet reshuffle will not take place, it is said. The sources said only expansion is preferred now. Four cabinet posts are likely to be filled in the cabinet expansion and one of them can be a fulltime minister for the city of Bengaluru.

The next cabinet reshuffle is expected to take place once the government completes 3 years in office. Till then the chief minister wants to keep the dissidents away.

The sources added that proposed expansion will happen only if the high command agrees.

take tips from modi - he knows how to shuffle-reshuffle-dismiss cabinet members n bureaucracy without allowing any dissidence. He knows how to be autocratic n ruthless in governance. Devegodaji or mahinda rajapaksha wud give some clues. Many power hungry leaders will be unhappy if they are not given a chance in cabinet. Remove people like ambarish who are simply wasting public money.
