Missing schoolgirl allegedly Gang-Raped, murdered in Punjab's Ludhiana

Ludhiana, Sep 4 (Agencies): A schoolgirl missing since Wednesday in Punjab's Ludhiana was allegedly gang-raped and murdered. Her body, with multiple injuries, was retrieved from a canal last evening.

Doctors have confirmed rape.

The girl was allegedly kidnapped on her way home from school in the Shimlapuri area on Wednesday and then taken to a house where she was allegedly gang-raped.

There were at least 17 wounds all over her body and the police say a deep cut on her head indicates that she was hit with a sharp weapon.

Her body was dumped in a canal.

There have been angry protests by relatives of the girl and others since yesterday.
