Bodies of two Russian climbers found in Peru

Lima, Sep 4 (IANS/EFE): Mountain police in Peru's Ancash region have found the bodies of two Russian climbers reported missing on August 27.

The Russian climbers disappeared after reaching the summit of Huandoy Sur, which towers 6,160 metres above sea level and is in Ancash's Cordillera Blanca.

Seven Guide Summer, the company that worked with the climbers, informed the National Police on Tuesday that the men were missing and a police team found the bodies during the night, the El Comercio newspaper reported on its website.

The climbers' bodies were sent to Yungay, the city closest to the mountain, and will be transported to Lima for repatriation to their homeland.
