New Delhi, Sep 4 (IANS): A 36-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman and blackmailing her in Delhi's Chandni Mahal area, police said on Friday.
The accused, identified as Mohammed Naved, befriended a 26-year-old woman in February at a mobile repair shop and they exchanged phone numbers.
Soon, he asked the woman out for dinner on her birthday and convinced her into going to a lodge next to the restaurant where he allegedly raped her and shot a video of the incident, a police officer said.
Naved allegedly raped the woman several times threatening her with uploading the video clip on the internet.
He also started to extort money from her and got a SIM card issued in her name, he added.
When Naved started asking the woman to go around with his friends, she approached the police and reported the matter, the officer said.
Police have not yet recovered any obscene video clip from the accused.
