Mufti government spying on me: Omar

Srinagar, Sep 4 (IANS): Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Friday accused the state government of "brazenly spying" on him.

The National Conference leader tweeted that a journalist interviewing him for a national daily got stopped right outside his residence by a police detective.

"Mufti government brazenly spying on me. A journalist interviewing me for a national daily just got stopped right outside my gate by CID person.

"She was asked who she was and what the purpose of her visit was! Seriously guys, if you want to know just ask me, I couldn't care less if you do.

He challenged his successor Mufti Mohammed Sayeed to directly ask him what he was planning to do instead of using spies to shadow him.

"Dear Mufti (Saab), if you and your apparatchiks want to know what I'm up to, pick up the phone and ask me," he said. "Please don't accost people outside my gate!"
