$1.9 bn spent by Pakistan on anti-terror offensive


Islamabad, Sep 4 (IANS): Pakistan has so far spent $1.9 billion from its own resources on anti-terror military operation Zarb-i-Azb and return of Temporary Displaced Persons, a statement by the foreign office on Friday said.

Elaborating on the expenses incurred during the fight against terrorism, spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah said Coalition Support Fund (CSF) was reimbursement of the expenditures Pakistan incurred before the start of the operation, according to a report published on the Radio Pakistan website.

Qazi Khalilullah further said talks with the US authorities for the release of CSF were underway.

He also stressed that Pakistan's anti-terror offensive Operation Zarb-i-Azb has been successful, indiscriminate and effective against terrorists of all kind.
