Hungary passes laws curbing migration

Budapest, Sep 4 (IANS): Hungarian lawmakers on Friday passed a package of laws in a bid to curb the rising influx of refugees and migrants who crossed into the country for a better life in Europe.

According to the laws, border trespassing would be a criminal act starting Sep 15, Xinhua reported.

People who climb over the newly built fence on the border with Serbia would face jail terms, said the laws.

Meanwhile, the package of laws also called for a prison sentence of up to 20 years for smugglers of people.
