BSF seizes ganja in Bengal


Kolkata, Sep 4 (IANS): The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized over 15 kg of ganja (cannabis) from near the Bangladesh border in West Bengal's Nadia district, an official said on Friday.

The cannabis was seized from a house in Kumari village in the district near the international border on Thursday night.

"Acting on intelligence inputs, we raided the house from which 15.5 kg of ganja was seized. The owner of the house identified as Ganesh Mondal, fled after seeing the BSF party,a a BSF officer said.

The BSF has seized nearly 525 kg of ganja from the across the South Bengal frontier in the year so far.
