NEW DELHI, Jun 30: There’s bad news for people scheduled to fly between India and Dubai in coming weeks. The two rounds of bilateral talks being held there on Thursday and Friday to help avert the July 1 deadline set by Kuwait to stop all flights between the two countries have so far failed to end the stalemate.

Another round of talks is expected on Saturday also, the last day before the warning may be implemented.

India is learnt to be sticking to its guns of allowing more direct flights but not any more via Dubai. Even at present, 52 % of traffic on airlines of Kuwait operating here is between India and Dubai. Allowing them to operate more flights via Dubai would seriously hurt Indian Airlines and Air India.
