Lately rumours have been making rounds about an organized way of luring innocent Hindus and converting them to Christianity in Udupi district, as alleged by the Sanchalak and Karyanirvahak of Mangalore province RSS.

Subramanya Holla’s alleged that Muslims and the Christians of North-East provinces like Mizoram were traitors, and to say the least that they were bent upon training innocent Hindus to become terrorists by providing them with weapons and the like.

Accusing Muslims of promoting terrorism in the name of “Jihad”, Holla asserted that Bajrang Dal had no way other option than take proactive stand in the matter. Further he questioned why the Christian leaders were not opposing the exercise of conversion, athough there had not been such perceptible attempt of conversion in this part of the district. He also informed the press reporters that some sixteen centres for carrying out religious conversion were operating. When the reporters insisted on his providing the list of such centred, he avoided answering the question.

Reacting to the assault on the priest, Ramanna Shetty admitted that the alleged assault unfortunately took place because of a mistaken identity. He was sorry for the incident but felt it was an attempt on the part of the media to denigrate his name.
