No hydraulic leak in AI405 before Khajuraho: Air India

New Delhi, Sep 9 (IANS): The Air India flight that made an emergency landing here on Monday evening had no hydraulic leak before departure from Khajuraho, the national carrier said.

"AI 405 Varanasi-Delhi was delayed at Khajuraho due to a snag of the engine system which was rectified and not repeated thereafter. Air India firmly clarifies that there was no hydraulic leak before departure from Khajuraho," the cerrier said in a statement here late Tuesday.

"The flight had an emergency landing at Delhi airport due to a hydraulic leak and all passengers were evacuated safely," it said.

The carrier's clarification comes after British author William Dalrymple, who was on the flight, reportedly said that passengers were told at the last minute that the plane was fixed and would take off for Delhi from Khajuraho.

There were 146 passengers on board.
