Japan's wholesale prices in August down 3.6 percent


Tokyo, Sep 10 (IANS): Japan's wholesale prices in August declined 3.6 percent from the same period last year, marking the fifth consecutive monthly drop, the Bank of Japan has said.

The index of corporate goods prices stood at 102.7 against the 2010 base of 100, the central bank said in a preliminary report, XInhua news agency reported.

Export prices were up 3.4 percent while import prices dropped 9.6 percent.
