Ajman, Sep 10: A new 300 bed teaching hospital is to come up in Ajman. His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi praised the efforts of Thumbay Group UAE for planning to establish Gulf Medical University Hospital at Al Jarf Ajman.
According to the details given by Thumbay Moideen, founder president of Thumbay Group UAE, the construction of the new GMU Hospital will begin this November and is expected to be completed by 2017/18. I am thankful to His Highness for encouraging us to expand our facilities and services to offer high quality healthcare and education in the region said Moideen.

With established hospitals in Dubai, Ajman, Sharjah and Fujairah, the group has recently launched Thumbay Clinics in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah.
The GMU Hospital, a state of the art, purpose built 300 beds facility will be the teaching hospital of Gulf Medical University. The hospital will be equipped with modern infrastructure and will focus on medical tourism also. Constructed over 3,20,000 square feet area, in four floors and with over 120 clinics, the hospital will feature a special robotic pharmacy, a first of its kind in the region and will have tertiary care facilities. The hospital will also have a full-fledged radiology department with PET-CT scan, a first of its kind in northern Emirates. With ultramodern facilities, the management aims at providing high quality healthcare services at very affordable cost. The state of the art laboratory will be connected to CABRI (Center for Advanced Biomedical Research and Innovation) via an unmanned chute to offer highly specialized tests and diagnostic facilities.
New dental hospital and rehabilitation center to come up on campus:
Plans are made to construct a dedicated dental hospital with over 50 chairs to teach and train students from the college of dentistry. Spanning over 30,000 sq feet and hosted on three floors, the dental hospital will have all specialties under one roof.
A hi-tech rehabilitation center will have physical therapy, speech, hearing and occupational therapy specialties and sports medicine, with state of the art laboratories including GAIT Analysis lab. The center will be constructed on three floors with an area of 30,000 square feet. The center will train the physical therapy students of the university.
The dental and rehabilitation centers are expected to be ready by September 2016:
The new GMU Hospital, which will be the largest private hospital in Northern Emirates, is being established as a brand providing quality care to patients from all over the region. GMU Hospital will lay special emphasis on medical tourism. Along with all other group hospitals, GMU Hospital will also play an important role in offering tertiary care services to medical tourists. The international medical tourism department of Thumbay Hospitals aims to cater to an extensive number of patients and to be known as the preferred hospital for medical tourism in UAE. As part of the strategic plans, Thumbay Group is planning to open representative offices in 20 countries to educate people about medical facilities and services at all Thumbay Hospitals in UAE.
